THOMASVTLLE, Oct. 3 (IP) (USDA) Livestock arrivals totaled 450 cattle, 350 calves and 1000 hogs at eight major packing plants at Albany, Columbus, Moultrie, Thomasville, and Tifton, Dothan, and Jacksonville and Tallahassee, Fla. Hog prices were mostly steady.

Composite quotations at the eight plants for soft and semi-hard hogs were as follows: Good and choice barrow and gilts, 180-240 17.00 17.50, and a few lots of mixed semi-hard and hard-finished hogs quoted at 18.00 at one or more plants. Medium grade, 180-240 were 16.50 17 Art- r.n4 040 OT Ik. 1 KO 9 17.00; over 270 15.50 9 16.50. Weights from 160-180 lbs. were 16.251?? 16.75, and a few closely sorted.

In the Georgia-Florida-Alabama direct marketing area, all classes were slow and the undertone was steady to weak compared with last week's close.
