The Races Next Wednesday. Just at present the all absorbing topic of conversation is the race meeting which takes place on Wednes-da3' next, we and judge 13' the list of entries there will be a most enjoyable da3''s sport.

The chief interest seems to centre in the open mile for horses for which there are ten entries, among them being a number of outsiders. At the course ever3- arrangement has been made for the comfort of both competitors and spectators and no trouble or expense has been spared b3r the club to render the meeting a success. On the south side of the course which is round the three-mile pond at Fair view an enclosure has been made inside of which is a ver3' prett3' stand capable of seating about sevent3'-five persons. Back of and underneath the stand are the dressing and weighing rooms, and close behind that are the stalls for the competing horses. On the course itself a great deal of time and trouble have been expended and it is now in fine order and wants nothing but a heavj' shower of rain to make it perfect.

The following list of officers is in it self a guarantee of success. Starter fi. (1. II. D'Aeth; Clerk of the scales, It.

Among other game he managed to bag a large panther, which measured seven feet from tip to tip.
